Cost of mini Herefords

What does it Cost to get Started?

To get started with stud stock – able to be registered with the Australian Hereford Association and meeting the Frame Score conditions – you can pay up to $20,000 for a heifer and up to $10,000 for a bull calf, but the usual prices are around $1,500 for a heifer and the same for a bull.

To see the latest information on what AMH breeders have for sale visit Australian Miniature Hereford Breeder Network website – click here.

To get started with miniature Herefords, you can also purchase registered Herefords and use a miniature Hereford bull (just like the Largents did in the USA to help start the miniature poll Hereford line in the USA) – the animals are still able to be registered with the Australian Hereford Association,. The animals are classified as miniature Herefords when they met the frame score conditions – see here for miniature Hereford frame scores

Remember you don’t need to buy a heifer and bull to have a breeding pair; if you buy a heifer – we can supply fully imported pure miniature Hereford semen for $135 per straw.
